Things To Do Sunday To Start The Week Off Like A Boss

Let's face it...Mondays can be hard.  What happens Monday can set your mood for the whole week.

Luckily for you, I have a few tips that should make for a smoother Monday and week too!  So what do you say?  Ready to start the week off Like a Boss?  Here's what you have to do.

Plan Your Outfits For The Week

I love doing this, especially for the kids!  It's one less thing you have to worry about in the mornings.  You just grab your clothes and put them on and voila...you are dressed!

Meal Prep

Ok, I know this one can be hard but if you could at least plan your lunches & snacks for the week and prepare them the day before then your week will go a lot smoother, pinky promise.

Dinners are nice to plan too!  You can use Sundays to grocery shop so you can already have everything you need!

Gas Up The Car

Who hates getting in the car Monday morning, while already running late, to find out the car needs gas?  I do!  Getting into a habit of filling up the car Sundays will save you this stress Monday morning.

Review Your Planner / Calendar

I'm going to tell you this right now, if you don't at least have a calendar to write your important dates in (even if it's on your phone) then there will be lots you will forget during the week.  This will definitely not help the week run smoothly.   Make sure you write in your calendar or planner daily and have the next week pretty much planned.  This will make it easy to look at on Sunday and know what's coming for the week.

Clean Out Your Bag

Whatever bag you use - purse, backpack, tote, lunch bag, briefcase, man bag? - make sure you clean it out before the next week.

If you need even more motivation to clean your bag out, read this post I wrote on Why You Should Be Cleaning Your Purse More Often.  Don't let the same thing that happened to me, happen to you.

You can also use this time to pack your bag too.  I pack my daughter's backpack and my purse the night before so we can just grab them and go.

Set Weekly Goals

Setting goals every week will encourage you to stay focused.  Even if it's something small, like finishing the laundry or exercising twice a week for 30 minutes, it will still give you motivation to reach something for the week, and that will be your extra push.

Check The Weather

This can help when picking out your outfits!  It's also great for knowing what time to leave.  There's been a few times when my phone says it will be raining at 8:30am and I needed to be at work at 9am, so I've left a few minutes earlier to avoid the rain.

Make sure to check the weather for the week every Sunday but also make it a habit to check it when you first wake up.

Wash Your Sheets

As I mention in this post...fresh sheets are awesome for a good nights sleep!  Starting the week off with a good nights sleep can set your mood for Monday mornings.

Set Alarm For Bedtime

I showed you in this post different ways to use your clock.  Using the Alarm is not just for waking up, you can make an alarm for bedtime too.  I have mine at 10:30pm to be in bed ready to go to sleep by 11pm.  This gives me enough time to also read a chapter from a book, which helps me sleep better too.

Doing these simple tasks every Sunday can really help you get ready for the week and tackle it Like A Boss!

    1. Thanks Mandy! Having all your outfits planned out does save lots of time! Plus it also cuts back on mess because I'm the type that likes to try on all my clothes before heading out the door. :)

  2. I did our sheets yesterday and it certainly was nice to have for going to bed last night! Though it didn't help our sleep any (Sunday nights are horrible for me no matter what) it was still a nice touch!
I, however, actually prefer getting gas Monday morning versus Sunday. One, I go grocery shopping super early, so I've plenty of time to get gas before the store even opens. Two, there are no lines at the gas station! Three, I'm already at the store, why make two trips? It's just down the street, sure, but I'd rather leave the house once than twice ;)
I do, however, make sure every Sunday to at least glance at the next week and see what's going on, if not plan out the whole week. Makes a groggy and only-3-hours-of-sleep-me glad on Monday to know that I already know what I have to do for the day - even if I don't remember it, it's written down already!

  4. I love the idea of setting your alarm for what time you want to go to bed. I am going to start that tonight.

I check the weather daily as well. I use a recipe from IFTTT.com so I get a message on my phone right after my wake-up alarm goes off at 5 a.m. That way I can immediately see the weather report when I wake up without doing anything, but looking at that one message.

    Thanks for sharing your list!
