January Blog Report & February Goals

When it comes to this blog, I feel I started the year off on the right foot!  I took about 5 months off at the end of 2015 because I didn't know where I wanted my blog to go.  It also didn't help that I had run out of things to write about. I decided to step back, do some research and start it back up this year because, the truth is, I really love it!  After my first post got lots of positive feedback, it really encouraged me to continue on the path I was on.

I've never been open about blogging, stats or income... mainly because I was just doing it for fun and hoping maybe I'd make a little money off of it that way.  But in reality it doesn't work like that.  This year I took the leap (after 4 years!) and decided to start the steps to making money off my blog.  I made a blog post notebook to keep track of all my ideas and never run out of something to write about, joined some new blog groups on Facebook and signed up for Influencer programs (something I've been too scared to do).

I even revamped my blog with a new picture of me & short bio, changed the font and it's color and added a new about me page.  Lastly, I finally added my disclosure policy, which I've been meaning to do for about a year now.

I can honestly say I feel pretty good about everything and I'm looking forward to what February has in store for me.  Here are my stats and numbers for January.

Numbers

I just added Google Analystics on January 20th, so these stats are not a true reading of how my month went but are still the most accurate numbers I have for the last two weeks of January.

January Goals:

-Get 1,000 Followers on Facebook
-Sign up for Influencer programs
-Finally write my Disclosure Policy
-Engage on Twitter more (I'm still learning the ropes)
-Open up more (Even behind a blog I get a little nervous & shy)
-Engage on more FB Blog Groups
-Get posts featured at least twice

What I Missed
The only thing I didn't hit was the 1,000 Facebook followers, but I plan to make that goal for sure this month!  I'm hoping to get 1,500 this month (cross fingers).

What I Accomplished
I've been engaging on Twitter more (you can follow me here).  I'm still trying to understand it, but I've linked it up to my Instagram which I'm a pro at!

Then there was the 20 Facts About Me post I wrote in efforts to open up more.  (I shared things not even my friends knew about.)

One thing I am definitely happy about, and I feel I've succeeded beyond expectation, was getting my posts featured.  My goal was to have two of my posts featured in blog parties twice last month and I'm happy to say that 6 out of the 8 posts I wrote last month have been featured!  I'm still waiting to see about my Gorgeous DIY Makeup Mat post, since I just posted it Monday.

February Goals

-1,500 Facebook Followers
-200 Twitter Followers
-Actually sign up for an Influencer campaign
-Make $100 from Ads
-Make $190+ from Influencer campaign (that's one or more posts)
-Get more involved in Affiliate program
-Get the hang of this Stumbleupon thing (seriously clueless!)
-Increase my pageviews to 3,000 this month (My Blog account shows I have 4,000+ PV, but I know Google Analystics is more accurate.  We'll see how many I get this month.

I'm treating this blog as if it were brand new.  There's been many times I've wanted to write about a subject but I didn't because I was too scared.  Not this year!  2016 is a year to just go for it and see where that takes me.

Thank you all so much for stopping by my blog, whether it's your first time or you are a consistent reader.  Every single one of you is helping me reach my goals and I really appreciate all of you!  (hugs)

I've linked this post up at these parties!

    1. Hi Melissa. Last month I read a blog post by Home Made Interest that was titled How to Make Money Blogging. In that post it had several influencer campaigns you can sign up for. =) You can just go to their website and search that title to find it quickly. It's very informative.
