Labeling Cords - Easy Mixup Fix

Cord chargers can be annoying.  With all the devices we have around the house, it's hard to keep track of what cord charges what device or who they belong to.  It gets even harder when you visit family members and have chargers all over the place.

I got tired of having this little problem and decided something had to be done.  So, I gathered all the cords in the house and my handy dandy label maker.

I then put the name of the person and what the cord charger goes to.  Just type in the name and print and then the device and print to leave a space between the two.  That space left in the middle is perfect for wrapping the label around the cord and seeing the print on both sides.

Right now I only have a clear tape left for my label maker.  Black font on a black device does not work.  When this happened I used washi tape to add color so the font could stand out.

The labels made it easier to find the cord we need if we had them in one bag.  We just simply looked for the device label and pulled it out.

Labeling the cords this way has been a big improvement.  We even went on vacation with several family members and had no problems distinguishing which ones were ours.

This is one trick I'm keeping in my book!

    1. It really is Emily! We stayed in a condo with 15 other family members and we knew exactly what cord was ours. Especially since other family members had the same chargers as we did. It saved us a huge headache.

  3. My cords go "missing" all the time. I'll give this solution a try. At least it should make it easier to find! From Blog It Forward tonight. Have a good week.

  4. Layering the tape over the washi was such a smart idea! Plus I love the little pop of color it adds!

    1. Thanks Shannon! The washi was fun to add. Especially since you can get it in many different colors and patterns.
