DIY Nightstand Makeover - Takes Less Than 30 Minutes!

I've had this little nightstand for about 10 years!  It's not the prettiest piece of furniture, but it's what I have and it works for me now.

Painting it white and trading the silver for gold with glass knobs would be my dream, but in reality it would be hard to do that.  I've never taken this piece of furniture apart.  I bought it at a garage sale exactly how it is and it's been that way since.  I'm terrified of taking it apart in fear I wouldn't be able to put it back together again or it wouldn't be as sturdy, or maybe I'm just scared of my first real DIY furniture project.  Either way, I knew I wanted to make it over in some way, but didn't know how.  That's when I came up with the best idea ever, not to mention the easiest!

Floral and tape,  oh my!  I love the way the top came out.  It's the perfect touch to add something a little different without me worrying about messing up my nightstand.

The tools I used for this project were:  Scotch Expressions Masking Tape, wrapping paper (I bought this one on sale at Target a while back), clear shelf liner and scissors.

First, I measured and cut my wrapping paper making sure I left a little space around it.

Then, I grabbed my tape and went around the border of the table making sure I taped the wrapping paper's edges too.

Lastly, I was able to cover everything using my handy dandy clear shelf liner.  This will protect the paper from spills or tears.

I love how this project makes everything stand out on top!

Isn't this project just so easy and don't you just love that print?  It really makes me feel more at ease looking at this before I turn the lights out. What do you think of this project?
