30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge: Day 24 - Cars

Welcome back everyone!  I hope you did a lot of organizing over the weekend and your little free day yesterday!  It's day 24 of our 30 Day Neat & Tidy challenge and we are moving on to organizing our cars!

I don't know about you, but my cars can be disaster zones at some points!  It makes an everyday errand look like we took a week long road trip, please tell me I'm not alone on this.  Well today we are going to fix all that!

Here are the steps you need to get your car organized and keep it looking clutter free!

-Take out anything that doesn't belong and relocate those items.

-Throw any trash away and vacuum the inside.

-Decide what things you need in the car and list them on a paper so you can then categorize them.  (For example, kid's car toys can be one category, shopping items like reusable bags can be in another.)

-If you don't already, get yourself a trunk organizer like this one.  It's great for holding items you might use in the car and it's perfect for holding groceries like milk and juice bottles.  (Don't you just hate it when they fall over and start rolling everywhere?)

-While you are near the trunk, check your spare tire to make sure it's in good shape.  Also check that you have the proper tools just in case you get a flat.

-Organize the back seat with over the chair organizers.  They can hold all kinds of stuff to keep kids entertained.  They are also perfect to hold diapers and extra clothes if you have a little baby.

-If the over the chair organizer isn't your thing, you can also use a small basket to hold the same items.  Older kid's can grab from it to get the activity they want or it can be a little emergency baby kit for those accidents.

-Store wipes and extra bags behind the seat or on the car door.  This makes unexpected accidents easy to clean.

-The most important things that should be in your glove compartment are your car manual, insurance info and a small emergency kit.  Everything else should be kept elsewhere or able to fit in the compartment without you having to dig for your insurance or car manual.   (Remember never to store medications in the car since the car does not have a stabilized temperature.)

-If you are lucky enough to have an arm rest storage console then maximize this space to suit you!  Everyone will have something different they store here, so I would like to hear what you decided to store in the arm rest!
