30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge: Day 9 - Under the Sink

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  I hope you finished up a lot of great organizing projects!  Today is day 9 of the 30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge and we are tackling all that clutter under the sink!  You could tackle the sink in your master bathroom, guest bathroom, the kitchen or even under every sink in the house.  Whatever you do, I would pick the most cluttered first.

Let's get started!

-Take everything out from the cabinets and/or drawers.

-Wipe down, vacuum and add shelf liner to protect the bottom of the sink and drawers.  This will also make it easier to wipe up any kind of spills that might happen.  Click here to find out How to Easily Instal Shelf Liner.

-Go through everything you took out and start grouping like items together.  Throw away any trash or expired items.

-Make a relocate pile so you can put things back where they belong.

-Next it's time to organize the rest of the stuff back in.  Take your piles of grouped items and find bins, baskets and other items that will help you house them.  Try using what you have!  Use empty cereal boxes, baskets and other items around the house.

Other tips for organizing your space!

-Use a small drawer organizer and cover the front with scrapbook paper to hide items.  This keeps everything easy to find but still discreet since nobody can see what's inside.

-Use a sturdy magazine files to hold items like your hair dryer and flat iron in the bathroom and aluminum foil, wax paper and plastic wrap in the kitchen.

-Remember you can even make use of the doors.  I bought a hanging shelf and hung it over my cabinet door in the bathroom to hold my morning beauty products.  Now I have everything in one place and easy to find.

-Cleaning gloves can have their own place too!  Use a command hook and a binder clip to hold them in place, just like I did here.

-A small bucket under any sink is great to have as a mini laundry basket for small towels.

-Use an over the cabinet door hook for towels, this is especially helpful in the kitchen.

-In guest bathrooms, use a small pullout drawer to store travel items like shavers, body soap, toothbrush, floss, shampoo and other small items an overnight guest might forget to bring.  Make sure to label them so your guests can find what they need easily!

    1. Containers are great for organizing anything! You can even make a little caddy with the mostly used cleaners and store the rest in another place! Thanks for dropping in Lou!

  9. You have some really great ideas. I love the one with the plastic drawers and scrapbook paper. I definitely need to do some organization in my home. I have too many craft supplies (and more coming in the mail) and not enough space for everything I own.
