30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge: Day 21 - Pantry

Day 21 is here for this 30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge and it is pantry day!  If you follow me on Instagram then you know I've already done this challenge and I'll be posting the finished product on the Team Neat & Tidy Facebook Group.

Here are the steps you need to get your pantry in tip-top shape!

-Take everything out....like, everything!  Don't leave one single thing in there.

-Clean the shelves and the floor, maybe even using soap and water.  You can also add shelf liner if you have wood shelves.  It makes it so much easier to clean!

-Group like items together on your counters and set zones on each shelf.  We have tons of cans so we dedicated one shelf to just canned foods (not including fruit).

-Maximize the floor space with bins for bulk items and drinks.

-Use baskets and bins on shelves to corral like items together.  (Snacks all in one basket, glass jars in another and so on.)

-If you need more space, think about getting an over the door organizer to store more items.

-Utilize the top of the pantry with a standing wire shelf.  You can buy these at Walmart or Target in the kitchen/organizing section.

-Label, label, label!  If you want your family to keep up all the hard work you just put into your now clean and organized pantry, then you will have to use labels so they know where everything goes!  If you have little ones then pictures can also help.

Don't worry too much about making your pantry look pretty, just concentrate on it being functional for you.  All your bins or baskets don't have to match.  Those are things you can always fix later.  If you find your system isn't working for you, then go back and re-evaluate it to see what you can change.

I'd love to see your pantry pictures!  Post them to your FacebookTwitter or Instagram and tag me in them!  Or you can use #TeamNeatAndTidy.
