30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge: Day 18 - Upper Cabinets

Welcome to day 18 of the 30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge!  Today we're tackling the upper kitchen cabinets.  It's time to get this space organized in a way that benefits us!

Here's what you need to do to accomplish this task!

-Empty one cabinet at a time.

-Go through everything in each cabinet and throw any trash or expired items away.

-Decide if there's any items you can donate or sell.  I would try to pick at least one item from each cabinet.

-Clean each cabinet and add shelf liner if you can.  You can also add grip liner if you store any dishes in these upper cabinet.

-If you store tupperware here make sure They all have lids, are not cracked or stained.  If they are, then it's time to toss them.

-Try to organize the items you have left back into the cabinet.

-Do this for each cabinet at a time.  I know I already said that, but if you dump everything out at once, you might get overwhelmed and not complete the task.  Taking it one cabinet at a time allows you to find a stopping point if you need to take a break.

-I would also consider the layout of your kitchen and if anything can change with where you store items.  For example, meds should be stored in the cabinet farthest away from the store while spices should be stored closer to the stove.   Place items you don't use that often on the top and items you use daily closer to the bottom.

-Use shoe boxes, baskets or plastic bins to corral like items together.

Everyone stores different items in their kitchen cabinets so it's hard to give specifics on how to organize this area.  These tips are sure to help direct you in the right direction!
