30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge: Day 14 - Kid's Dresser
How did you do with the toys yesterday? Feel free to take today to finish it up if you need to. I don't want you to be mid toy declutter and thinking you have to move on to something else. You can always catch up later.
Today we're moving right along in this 30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge and tackling our Kid's Dresser. This space can get out of hand. Drawers that don't want to close, clothes you can't find and don't even get me started with the mix matched socks! Not being able to find a single pair that match...how does that happen? Well, today we get it all under control!
Here are all the steps to take and a few tips for decluttering and organizing this space!
-Go through every single item of clothes and see what can be donated, trashed or sold.
-If you have younger kids that you plan to pass clothes on to, then add selected keep items of clothing to their One Size Up bin or drawer.
-Roll or file pants to save space. It will also make it easier to see what you have.
-File shirts away. Make sure you can see some of the graphic on the shirts to make it easy for kids to pick their favorite one.
-Adding shelf liner will keep the drawers clean and add a pop of color.
-Keep pj sets together by folding them inside one another! This also makes it easier to grab them when you are packing!
-Use drawer dividers to separate items in a drawer. You can make these out of boxes or buy them at places like Bed Bath and Beyond.
-Don't even worry about folding underwear! Just make sure to go through them and toss any that are torn or don't fit. If you have two different styles then you might want to put in a box or drawer dividers to separate the two.
This is a project that has been on my to do list for a long time now, so I don't have any pictures, but I'll be posting my results in the Facebook group here! Come join and show off all your work too!
