30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge: Day 1 - Jewelry

Welcome to the first day of the 30 Day Neat & Tidy Challenge!  If you are new to this challenge then you can read about it here and print out your list!  Also, don't forget to enter your email address at the top of this page to get the daily challenges strait to your mailbox!

Today's focus is your Jewelry!  In this challenge you will:

-Gather all your jewelry together.

-Take out any jewelry you don't like or use anymore.

-Untangle any necklaces that are tangled.

-Clean those that need cleaning (They sell special cloths and jewelry cleaner almost everywhere.  Check your local supermarket next time you are in there).

-Find a designated space for all your jewelry.  It can be in a drawer, on your dresser and you can even use other items like a teacup, other dishes, vases or a chocolate box to help store them in a pretty organized way.

If you have plenty of time then you can also make this DIY Necklace Organizer to keep them from tangling.  Another option would be to hang them on the wall with command hooks or thumb tacks.

-If you already have a designated space for all your jewelry (like a jewelry box) then I would take this time to clean it inside and out.  Vacuum it, wipe it down or dust it.

When you are done you should have a Neat & Tidy Jewelry space!  Give yourself a pat on the back and head to your list to scratch this task off!

How did you like this first task?  I'd love for you to leave your feedback in the comments!

Don't forget to load your pictures on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and tag me!  Or you can use the tag #TeamNeatAndTidy and let others see your progress too!

I'll be back tomorrow with another challenge!

  1. Good ideas! I never thought about using a chocolate box before, but that's a clever way to separate the jewelry.

  2. I don't wear a lot of jewelry myself, but I am a personal assistant for a Mary Kay National Sales Director and she has so much jewelry that we don't know what to do with. Literally, she has a wardrobe full of necklaces and brackets. Plus her bathroom wall is covered with hooks for earrings and everything else she wears. I will definitely be passing this along to her. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Oh my! I can just imagine how everything must look. I would probably tell her to put her most used pieces out to use and her special pieces away so they won't get ruined. I would also encourage her to go through it all and see if there is anything she could part with. Even one thing can make a difference. =)

    1. I know you can do it! I would start off by choosing the items you haven't worn in over a year or two. I got rid of some I liked, but never really wore. If you need any help, join the group. Or you can ask me and I'd be happy to help. =)
