Neat and Tidy Nightstand

I've had my nightstand for many years now.  My parents bought it at a Garage sale for super cheap and though it's lasted many years, it really isn't so pretty for me to look at.  I've thought of many ways I could spruce it up only to come to the conclusion that it would not work.  Though the outside isn't the ideal style I want for my bedroom, the least I can do is have the inside pretty and organized.  So here is a sneak peak of the inside.

The top drawer is used to hold some of my jewelry.  I've made use of items I had round the house to store them in and make them look pretty, like the vintage teacup and this stoneware egg tray.

I covered the bottom of a clear tray with this shelf liner to give an added pop and I love how all the jewelry looks against it.

This bottom drawer holds the day to day items I use, or should I say night to night?  Travel sized tissue, Emma's hair brush, the remote for our fan, ChapStick, antibiotic cream (for those little accidents/mosquito bites), hair bands, nail clippers and hand cream are just a few items that call this drawer home.  I also have a few extra journals stashed here with a pen.  It seems I'm always writing something down.

I reused an old desk organizer to store everything.  I was about to toss it out when I realized it fit perfectly in the drawer, and doesn't everything fit perfect in it too?

The top of my nightstand was no exception to my organization but I decided to keep it nice and simple, since this is the first and last thing I look at.  I placed a lamp for night time lighting, a dish for the little things that end up on my nightstand and an inspirational quote I printed from one of my favorite blogs, The 36th Avenue.  It's the perfect inspiration I need to start and end my day!

And there you have it.  My neat and tidy nightstand.  It might not have a lot of wow on the outside, but it sure does look wonderful on the inside!

What do you keep in your nightstand?
