Neat & Tidy Under the Bathroom Sink!

Who has their under the sink bathroom cabinet Neat & Tidy?  I do! :)

Finally I've found the time to tackle this huge organization project that's been on my to-do list for some time now!  I don't have a before picture, but you can bet it looked unorganized.  I don't know how I found anything under there.

I started by taking everything out and lining the bottom with pretty blue shelf paper.  If you don't do anything else, just lining the bottom of your cabinets with shelf paper will make a big difference!  Stick with bright colors like blue, yellow or pink so it will look brighter and cleaner.

Now it was time to sort through everything I took out.  I threw a lot of old cleaners out and took items out of their boxes.  I feel having lots of little boxes actually create clutter rather than fix it.  They take up lots of unwanted space storing just one product inside and leaving lots of extra room in it.  Instead, I group similar items from the boxes together and store them that way.

This is where it gets a little personal.   I'm a couponer, so I usually stock up on my personal care (pads, tampons, liners) when I see a great deal.  This means I have a lot of them!  I took them all out of their boxes and grouped them together.  I bought a big Sterilite 3 drawer organizer (size 13 1/2" x 11" x 9 5/8") and placed each type in their own drawer;  one for liners, one for pads and one for tampons.  I then used some pretty scrapbook paper to hide the evidence cover the front of each drawer and I used my handy dandy labeler to label whats inside for easy finding.  I think this storage method keeps everything discreet without guessing where everything is.

For all my cleaning supplies I decided to keep it simple by storing everything in a clear plastic box so I can see what's inside without taking everything out.  I bought some pink rubber gloves, a microfiber cloth and some scrubbers in bright colors to help encourage me to use them.  Cleaning the bathroom is not something I really enjoy, but who can pass up the chance to scrub a toilet or a sink wearing pretty pink gloves and using colorful scrubbers? (Ok...I can.)  Either way, the bright colors go with the pretty theme. :)

I stored my toddler's step stool under the sink too for easy access and it can stay out of the way when not in use.

To keep our counters clean of clutter, I store my blow dryer and flat iron under the sink in a magazine rack.  It holds both of them perfectly.  I also have an extra flat iron here that we use for when we go on vacation.  I got it as a gift one Christmas and it's come in handy for quick packing.  I can use my regular flat iron before we go on vacation and I don't have to worry about forgetting one.  Behind the hair storage is where I store my toiletry bag so it can be out of the way, but I'll know where it is when I need it.

And there you have it!  That's how I organized under my bathroom sink!  Doesn't it look Neat & Tidy?

  1. Looks great, but if you have a second flat iron that is used when you go on vacation, why don't you just leave it in the luggage?

    1. Great question! And that would sound lovely to do but we don't use the same luggage bag every time. Depending on how long we will be gone will depend on what luggage we use, so it's easier for us to just have a place to store our flat iron so we can grab it and pack it in any luggage when we need to. =)
